RABBITAT – Wednesday’s Wordapod

So, what would you call the natural home of a wabbit, er, rabbit?

If you like “rabbitat”, pick up a copy of Wordapodia, Volume One: An Encyclopedia of Real Fake Words, where you will find more than 250 other creative, fun Wordapods.

RABBITAT

Rabbitat (n)the natural environment for an (often cute) burrowing mammal with long ears

Alternate Spelling: rabitat

Who Knew…?

Credit my almost-six-year-old son Benny with this Wordapod – or at least give him an assist.

A few days ago, he was reading aloud, and quite well, from a kids’ animal encyclopedia. He then came upon the word habitat, and read it quickly, and it came out like “rabitat.” This struck me as humorous, and for what it’s worth, he does know the word “habitat.”

“Was that a Benny-ism?*” asked my too-wise son?

“Not exactly,” said I, “but thank you for my next Wednesday’s Wordapod.”

DONE!

*Benny’s words of wisdom, coming one day to a virtual bookstore near you.
