SARGASM – Wednesday’s Wordapod

Wednesday’s Wordapod (Sargasm) found in Wordapodia, Volume One: An Encyclopedia of Real Fake Words, may not be for those easily offended. Or maybe, it is. Did I offend anyone?

Sargasm (n) – an apparent instance of powerful physical and emotional relief that is feigned in order to send a derisive message to the other party

Please Note

As a newer Wordapod, semanticians are still wrestling with the exact definition of sargasm. As this volume went to press, my crack research team was not able to consult with experts, including staff members of the prestigious Pullman Institute of Unusual Pleasures.

However, this much seems to be known about this entry:

  • Its adjectival form is either sargasmic, or orcastic
  • It is not to be confused with sourgasmic, defined here as “a powerful pleasurable relief that takes a distasteful turn.”
  • It is also not to be confused with an Orcasm, defined as “one whale of a sexual climax.”

Sample Sentence

Simon was devastated when he discovered that Mona’s pleasurable screams were entirely sargasmic in nature.
