THANKS – Crap I Think of While Mowing the Lawn – #26
(other than This Lawn Looks Like Crap)
Interesting, if not always deep, thoughts often pop into my head while I’m doing battle with my lawn. And yes, I do battle with a non-gas, non-electric, old-fashioned push mower. An actual reel mower. And my mind tends to think of some semi-interesting crap while I push along.
Welcome to Volume 26 of Crap I Think of While Mowing the Lawn (or raking the leaves…or shoveling the driveway).
Many ideas have been running through my writer/speaker’s mind the last several days, inspired in part by Thanksgiving. There are a few themes that have started to coalesce, and this promises to give my future blogs, books and speeches – and yes, even some inspirational keynote addresses – more of a direction.
I’m excited, and yes, thankful.
This is merely a tease for now, which much more to come.
Whatever the particulars of your own Thanksgiving, I hope that you will enjoy it in the very best of spirits. I hope that you will be able to sit back and truly count…not your calories (and certainly not your baggage and burdens)…but your blessings. And, I hope that you will count yourself and what uniquely defines you as your number one blessing on your long list of people and things to be grateful for.
I will be at home, in what will be an overpopulated, overstuffed house, eating an overstuffed turkey, and I’ll then take my overstuffed belly to the recliner and…if life is good…watch some overgrown men representing the Philadelphia Eagles kick the stuffing out of those overhyped Dallas Cowboys.
For today, that – and the friendship and love of family and friends – is bountiful enough.
For now, thanks for reading and sharing.
