Wednesday’s Wordapod – Romanitarian

Today’s Wordapod, taken from Wordapodia, Volume One: An Encyclopedia of Real Fake Words, seems to be appropriate…if not in the most sentimental sense…for this time of year—Valentine’s Day Eve.

Romanitarian (adj)showing concern for, and helping to improve, the welfare and happiness of others by offering free sexual favors

Romanitarian is a highly subjective term. Many of those who believe that they are performing romanitarian acts are often somewhat delusional, as they are actually the recipients of such largesse.

Sample Sentence:  Brenda took such pride in being a romanitarian to men in need that she listed it on her resume as a special accomplishment.

Please Note:

A majority of surveys of American religious institutions shows that most romanitarian acts are not committed by clergyman—they are engaged in by lay leaders.

Romanitarian is one of over 250 real, fake words to be found in Wordapodia, Volume One. Wednesday’s Wordapod was also a popular feature on from September, 2011 thru January, 2013.
